Mushroom Scallion Yakitori

Skewered grilled mushroom and scallion with brushed unique soya sauce mixture is popular in Japan. Scallions are considered younger than a green onion because they should not have a bulb.

Ingredients
Stem-less mushrooms               9 – 10 nos.
Spring onion                              4 – nos.
Sesame seeds                          a pinch
For sauce
Dark soya sauce                       ½ cup
Toasted sesame seeds              1 tsp
Powder sugar                            1 tsp
For garnish
Sesame seeds                          as required
Coriander                                  as required

Method
To prepare sauce
Heat water in a pan, add Japanese soya sauce, powder sugar, sesame seeds and let it simmer slowly.

To prepare yakitori
Cut the stem-less mushrooms and scallion (spring onion’s white portion).

Then put the mushroom and scallion in the bamboo sticks (soaked in water for half an hour).
put mushroom and scallion in skewers 
Now put this sticks on coal grill and frequently turn them.

Once grilled put them on prepared sauce and brush sauce on them.

Then place them on the serving plate and pour some sauce on top and sprinkle sesame seeds.

Garnish with coriander leaves.
