Cabbage porial

cabbage porial
It is a popular dish from Kerala, very easy to prepare with easy available ingredients.

Ingredients
Sliced cabbage                         ½
Finely sliced onion                    1
Grated coconut                         1 tbsp
Red chillies (broken)                  1
Urad dal                                    1 tsp
Chana dal                                 1 tsp
Mustard seed                            1 tsp
Curry leaves                              8-10
Green chillies                            2-3
Turmeric powder                        1 tsp
Salt                                          to taste

Method
First heat oil in a pan
Add mustard seeds, udar dal, chana dal, broken red chilli, and onion then stir a bit until soft.
Then add curry leaves, slit green chillies, turmeric powder and stir.

Now add cabbage, salt and some water, mix well.

Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Now open the cover and let the excess water evaporated but keep stirring for 2 minutes.

garnish with grated coconut
The cabbage porial is ready to serve.
