Steamed modak

steamed modak
A maharastrian sweet preparation made during the Ganesh festival.

Ingredients
Rice flour                                  1 cup
 Ghee                                       2 big tsp
Water                                       1 cup
Salt                                          1 pinch
Grated coconut                          50 gm
Jaggery                                     150 gm
Chironji                                     1 small tsp
Khus-khus                                1 small tsp
Almonds                                   1 small tsp
Cashew                                    1 small tsp
Khoya                                       ½ cup

Method
First In a pan add ghee and salt further pouring in water and bring it to boil. Then add rice flour and stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming and heat more (thick pasty texture) and put it on a plate
Stuffing for modak:
Now take another pan heat ghee add khus khus, alomds, jaggery, cashew, coconut (grated) and cook and saute. Take out and keep in a bowl.

Take the rice mix kept to cook and make it into a smooth dough form and fill it with the stuffing and make it a shape you wish (typically a rounded shape closing the bottom modak shape)
modak for steamed 
Now Steam it for 5 to 8 minutes or until cook and serve hot.
