Carbonara is an Italian pasta dish from Latium and more specifically to Rome based on eggs, bacon, cheese and black pepper. Spaghetti is usually used as pasta. The dish was created in the middle of the 20th century.
Have dinner on the table in 15 minutes with this deliciously easy carbonara pasta.
Ingredients
Dried spaghetti pasta 375g
Olive oil 1
tablespoon
Bacon 200g cut into 2cm-long pieces
Eggs 2
Egg yolks 2
Pure cream 1/2 cup
Finely grated parmesan cheese 2/3 cup (10 tbsp + 1 tsp)
Black pepper powder ¼ teaspoon
Fresh flat-leaf parsley leave to serve
Method
First cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted
water or following packet directions until tender. Then drain water. Return to
pan.
Mean while heat oil in a frying pan on medium-high heat.
Now add bacon stir and cook for 4 minutes or until crisp.
Within this time whisk eggs, egg yolks, cream and
parmesan cheese in a jug nicely. Season it with pepper.
Now add bacon and egg mixture to pasta. Cook and toss, in
low heat for 1 minute or until combined properly. Top with parsley. Pasta is
ready to serve.
Note: who doesn't prefer bacon (is a meat product
prepared from pork), can be tried with chicken slice.
