karela sabzi or bitter ground curry |
It is a popular north Indian dish for bitter
gourd lover. This dry sabzi is very easy to prepare with easy available
ingredients. Best match with white rice or rooti.
Ingredients
Sliced bitter gourd 1 cup
Sliced onion 1
cup
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder ½ tsp
Finely chopped tomato 1 cup
Finely chopped green and
red chilli 1
tsp
Peanut powder 2
tsp
Grated coconut 1 tbsp
Water as
required
Salt to taste
Oil 3 tbsp
For garnish
Grated coconut
Method
Heat oil in a pan, add sliced onion and sauté
till light golden.

Then add coriander powder, red chilli powder
and mix well.

Add finely chopped tomato and stir well then
add chopped red and green chilli.

Now add sliced bitter gourd, salt and mix
well and add some water and cook till bitter gourd becomes soft.

Then add peanut powder and grated coconut and
mix well.

Serve the bitter gourd curry and garnish
with grated coconut.
