Falafel

falafel 
Falafel is a deep-fried ball made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or with both, served with tahini sauce. Falafel is a traditional Middle Eastern food, usually served in a pita, now is a worldwide recognized food.

Ingredients
For tikki
Boiled chickpeas                       1 cup
Soaked chickpeas                     1 cup
Sesame seeds                          2 tsp
Chopped onions                        1 tbsp
Chopped garlic                          1 tsp
Chopped green chilli                  1 tsp
Salt                                          to taste
Red chilli powder                       ½ tsp
Cumin powder                           ½ tsp
Chopped coriander                    1 tbsp
Oil                                            to fry
For sauce
Tahini paste                              ½ cup
Lemon juice                              ½ no.
Red chilli powder                       1 tsp
For garnish
Sugar cooked plum                   as required
Dill leaves                                as required

Method
To prepare tikki
Take a blender, put soaked and boiled chickpeas and blend it.

Remove it in a mixing bowl, add sesame seeds, chopped onions, chopped garlic, chopped green chillies, salt, red chilli powder and mix well.

Add cumin seeds and chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

Heat oil in a pan.
Now make tikki’s from this mixture.

Then deep fry them on high flame till golden brown.
Remove on tissue.

To prepare sauce
Take tahini paste ( sesame seed paste), add lemon juice, chilli powder mix well.

For sugar cooked plum

Mix plum with water, sugar and vinegar and cook.

Arrange tikki and sugar plum on sauce.
arrange falafal on plate
