Matabaq Lahem

matabaq lahem
Matabaq lahem is an Arabic snack. They are small pieces of bread, stuffed with shallot, parsley, egg and mutton filling.

Ingredients
For filling
Olive oil                                     2 tbsp
Shallots                                    ½ cup
Sprig parsley leaves                   4 - 5
Boiled eggs                               2 - 3
Black pepper powder                 ½ tsp
Salt                                          to taste
Minced mutton                          ¾ cup
Cheese                                     ¾ cup
For dough
Whole wheat flour                     1 cup
All purpose flour                       1 cup
Baking powder                         ¼ tbsp
Salt                                         to taste  
For dusting
All purpose flour 
For garnish
Mint leaves
Olive oil

Method
Heat olive oil in a pan.
Meanwhile, blend shallots and parsley leaves in a mixer, also sauté them in the pan.
Now, blend the diced eggs in the already used mixer.

After this, add black pepper powder, salt.

Now add minced mutton mix well.

Add prepared egg mixture stir well.

Now add grated cheese in the pan to cook.

Then mix whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, baking powder, salt and required water in another bowl to knead dough.
After this, roll out the dough and stuff it with the prepared mixture.

Now, seal the dough and cut in half round.

Then bake it at 175 ° Centigrade for 12-14 minutes.
Garnish the prepared mtabaq  lahem with mint leaves and olive oil.

Your Mtabaq Lahems are ready to serve.
