Classic Hummus

classic hummus

It is a simple home made hummus recipe with chickpeas, garlic, tahina and olive oil. Plus, This easy dip recipe is great to make sandwiches for your lunchbox, or simply to serve with pitta bread.

Tahina is a paste made
from ground, hulled sesame seeds used in North African, Greek, and Turkish.

Ingredients
Boiled chickpeas                       1 ½ cup
Chopped garlic                          2 tbsp
Tahina paste                             2 tbsp
Salt                                          to taste
Mild chilli spiced oil                   500 ml
Lemon juice                              ¼ cup
For serving
Flat bread
Olive
Coriander

Method
Take a grinder, add boiled chickpeas, garlic, tahina paste, salt and grind well.
Now slowly add oil and continue in grinding until fine paste.

Add ice cube to maintain the temperature and grind till it thickens.
Add lemon juice and mix well.
Put this classic hummus in serving bowl.
Again add beetroot in grinder and grind well with hummus and put in another serving bowl.

Grill 2 flat breads on grill pan with olive oil. Add some chilli and coriander and cook from both sides.

Now cut breads and serve with classic hummus.
