Ingredients
Koi Fish 4
no (500g)
White mustard seed 1
teaspoon
Black mustard seed 3
teaspoon
Cumin seed ½
teaspoon
Panch foron 1
teaspoon
Tomato 2
small
Green chilli 5
Coriander leaves few
Turmeric powder 1
½ teaspoon
Salt to
taste
Mustard oil 3
tablespoon
Method
First put the fishes in a plate and marinate with turmeric
powder and salt and keep aside for 2 hours. Within this time put both types of
mustard seed, cumin seed and two chillies in grinder, make a smooth paste.

Now heat oil in pan then put the fishes one by one and
fry both sides for 2 minutes in medium heat. Take out and keep aside. Now in
the same oil add panch foron, one chilli and stir. Add chopped tomato and cook
for 1-2 minutes or until soft.
Pour the paste and stir, rinse the grinder jar with ½ cup
of water then add into pan and stir. When the gravy will start to boil add
fried fishes one by one and reduce the heat. Add salt then cover and cook for 5
minutes in low heat. Turn over fishes time to time.

Open cover add few chopped coriander leaves, mix with
gravy. The fabulous koi macher jhal is ready to serve with hot rice.
Serve it by garnishing with few fresh coriander leaves.
