Salouq is an
Arabic dessert, they are small pieces of bread, stuffed with delicious Date or Date-Walnut Filling.
Ingredients
For dough
All purpose flour 2
cup
Sugar 5

Pinches baking powder 2

Cardamom powder ¼

Milk ½

For date’s filling
Dates ½
cup
Cardamom powder ½

Rose water ½
tbsp
Saffron a

Sugar 2

Saffron soaked in milk 3
tbsp
For dates & walnut’s filling
Dates ½
cup
Walnuts 2
tbsp
Cardamom powder ½
tbsp
Rose water ½
tbsp
Saffron a
pinch
Sugar 2

Saffron soaked in milk 2

For dusting
All purpose flour
For garnish
Icing sugar
Cardamom powder
Method
Take a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder,
cardamom powder, milk and water then mix well to knead a dough.

Now put dates in two different bowls.

Mix walnuts in one of them.

After this, mix cardamom powder, rose water, saffron and sugar
in both the bowls to prepare a mixture.
Next, roll out the prepared dough and stuff it with the prepared
dates mixture along with dates and walnut’s mixture.

Now, seal the dough and bake it at 160°-172° Centigrade for
15-18 minutes.
Garnish the prepared Salouq with icing sugar and cardamom powder
then place them on serving bowl. Your
Salouq is ready to serve.
